Goes with your card

Website QR codes

The simplest code there is, with one property that makes it worth using here: the address it opens is not baked into the picture.

A printed link is a decision you cannot revisit

Print a web address on a card and you have committed to that page existing, at that URL, for as long as the card does. Sites get rebuilt, campaigns end, pages move, and the code keeps sending people to a 404 it cannot be talked out of.

One code, a destination you control

Scanning opens whichever page the code currently points at. Change that page in the dashboard and the next person to scan the same printed code lands somewhere new.

What changes for your business

Not what it is. What is different once people are using it.

A card can carry a campaign

Point it at whatever you are doing now. The code printed in January can lead to the thing you launched in June.

A rebuilt website stops breaking your print

When the site moves, you change one destination rather than reprinting everything that referenced the old one.

You can tell print apart from everything else

Traffic through the code is scanned traffic, counted separately, so you know what the printed thing actually did.

Where it sits on the card

Useful when you want one specific page rather than a list: a booking form, a product, a signup.

Questions people ask

Can I change the destination after printing?

Yes, that is the point of it. The code stays the same image and the address behind it is editable at any time.

Does changing it break anything for people who scanned before?

Anyone who already scanned has the old page open or bookmarked. New scans go to the new destination.

Is a dynamic code slower than a plain one?

There is one redirect in the middle, which is not perceptible on a phone. What you get for it is the ability to change the destination at all.
