Goes with your card
vCard QR codes
A vCard code is the one that matters most, because it is the only one that ends with your details actually sitting in the other person’s phone rather than on a card in their coat pocket.
The card is kept and the number is never typed
People are polite about cards. They take them, they keep them, and then they do not type eleven digits into a phone to save someone they met once. The card survives and the contact never exists, which is the same outcome as not giving one.
Scan, read, save
The code opens your card page in whatever browser the phone already has. Your photo, name, title and company are at the top, and every number and address below is a button rather than text to copy. One tap on Save Contact writes a contact file to the phone, with your details filled in exactly as you typed them.
What changes for your business
Not what it is. What is different once people are using it.
You stop losing the people who meant to keep you
The gap between being handed a card and being in someone’s contacts is where most introductions die. Closing it to one tap means the people who intended to keep you actually do.
Changing jobs stops invalidating your cards
Edit the company, the title or the number and every code already printed, already scanned and already shared points at the new details. Nobody has to be told, and the box of cards in your drawer does not become waste.
You find out whether any of it works
Each scan is counted, with the day it happened. After an event you can see whether the codes on the stand were used at all, which is more than a stack of paper cards will ever tell you.
Where it sits on the card
This is the card itself rather than something beside it. Every other code here is a thing you add to it.
Questions people ask
Does the person scanning need an app?
No. Every current iPhone and Android camera reads a QR code without anything installed, and the card opens in the browser that is already on the phone.
What is the difference between this and a plain vCard code?
A plain vCard code has your details encoded in the image itself, so changing a phone number means a new code and a reprint. This one points at a page you can edit, so the printed code never changes.
Can someone save my details without an internet connection?
The card page has to load, so the phone needs a connection at the moment of scanning. Once the contact is saved it lives on their phone like any other.
