Tangerine

Tangerine runs orange into pink with a single diagonal highlight across it. Warm colours can slide into looking childish; the sheen is what stops it, because a highlight implies a surface, and a surface implies something made rather than something coloured in.

Who it suits

• Hospitality, food, fitness and travel
• Community and events work
• Anyone whose job is to make people feel welcome

What to pair with it

A warm, smiling photograph. Rounded type is already doing friendliness, so the picture can too.

When to pick something else

Your work is adversarial or confidential. Nobody wants a warm orange card from their litigator.
