Nocturne puts indigo and violet blooms over a near-black body. It is the design most people point at first, because depth reads as expense: there is no flat area anywhere on the cover, so the eye keeps finding somewhere else to go.

Almost anything. Deep blue-violets are unusually forgiving, which is why this is a good first choice if you are unsure.
