Dark
Dusk
Most dark cards are not dark. They are a dark strip sitting on a white body, which reads as a mistake rather than a choice. Dusk carries the dark through the whole surface, and the text and hairlines are worked out from that surface rather than stored, so nothing in it can end up unreadable.
Who it suits
- Anyone whose audience is mostly on a phone at night
- Finance, security and infrastructure
- People who want a dark card without it being black
What to pair with it
A photograph with a dark or neutral background. A brightly lit photo on a dark card draws the eye away from the name.
When to pick something else
Your logo only exists as dark artwork on a light background. A dark card needs a light or reversed version of your mark.
