Closing the Loop on a Handover
Handing over a card is a bet that the other person will act. Most will not, through no fault of yours: the card goes in a pocket, then a drawer, and the moment passes. Lead capture removes the bet. When the visitor opens your card, they can send you their name and details in the same sitting, while the conversation is still fresh and the phone is already in their hand.
What Happens to the Details
When someone sends their details through a VCardForever card, they arrive by email with the visitor’s address set as the reply-to, so answering is just pressing reply. They can also be posted to a CRM by webhook, so they land in the system you already use, and exported as a CSV when you want them in a spreadsheet. There is no separate inbox to remember to check and no new tool to learn.
Where It Helps Most
Anywhere you meet many people briefly and never get time to take notes: a trade show, a viewing, a networking evening, a site visit. In those settings your own memory is the weakest link. A visitor who sends their own details gives you the correct spelling of their name and the email they actually read, which is better than anything you would have jotted on the back of a card.
What to Ask For, and What Not To
Keep the ask small. A name and a way to reach them is enough to start, and every extra field costs you some people. Because a visitor is giving you personal data, treat it with the care that implies: say what you will do with it, use it for that, and delete it when asked. Collecting less, and using it well, builds more goodwill than a long form ever does.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate form tool?
No. The capture is part of the card. The details reach you by email and can also be sent to a CRM by webhook or exported as a CSV.
Can I reply straight to the person who sent their details?
Yes. The email carries the visitor’s address as its reply-to, so pressing reply writes to them directly.
Is lead capture a CRM?
No. It collects the details at the moment of contact and passes them on. Tracking a deal through stages is the job of the CRM you send them to.

Put this into practice with your own card
Put your details on one card page, share it by link or QR code, and change them whenever they change. The printed code keeps working. No credit card required to start.
